Why does an RV need a cover?
Sun is the quiet killer of an RV. Ultraviolet light fades decals, chalks fiberglass, dries out roof sealant and rots tires. Hail dents roofs and cracks vents, and a winter of snow load strains a roof that was designed for driving, not for carrying weight. A steel cover keeps all of that off the coach, so the RV looks better and holds its value longer.
How tall does an RV cover need to be?
Tall enough to clear the roof air conditioner with room to spare, which for most Class A motorhomes and fifth wheels means a leg height well above a standard carport. When you design your cover we size the leg height and width around your actual rig, including slide-outs if you want to open them while parked.
Open RV carport or enclosed RV garage?
An open cover gives you roof protection at the lowest cost and is quick to pull in and out of. An enclosed RV garage adds walls and a tall roll-up door, which keeps out wind-driven rain, blowing dust, and curious eyes, and gives you a place to work on the coach out of the weather. Many customers start with a cover and enclose it later, which the steel frame allows.
Can the cover hold other vehicles too?
Yes. A wider cover can shelter the RV on one side and a boat, trailer or vehicles on the other, and a lean-to can be added along either side. Because the covers are built to order, you are not limited to a single-bay design.

Will a metal RV cover stand up to high wind?
Steel covers are engineered as a bolted frame anchored to the ground, and certified wind-rated options are available for areas that need them. Tell us where the cover is going and we will recommend the right build.
Can I park a fifth wheel under an RV cover?
Yes. We size the cover for the height of your fifth wheel's front cap and the length including the hitch, so it fits with room to maneuver.
Do RV covers come in different colors?
Yes. Roof, trim and any wall panels are ordered in the color you choose from the color chart, so the cover can match your house or shop.
